Principal Geotechnical Engineer-grade 4- Water-Edinburgh

Job Description We are looking to recruit a grade 4 Principal Geotechnical Engineer to working in Edinburgh - Tanfield office. Job responsibilities: - To develop and lead the geotechnical section in Edinburgh supporting across a multi-disciplinary engineering / environmental consultancy - Technical competency and experience in investigations, earthworks, foundations, geology and geotechnical design and technical reporting Project management tasks; scheduling work, monitoring budgets and quality of work. - Liaise with clients, stakeholders and regulators and provide specialist advice to clients and other technical disciplines/divisions Ability to deal directly with clients (external/ internal) Candidate requirements: - Chartered geologist or geotechnical engineer with a first and preferably second degree in geology, civil engineering or geotechnical engineering - Project management and team leader role operating with Geotechnical practice area. - Experience in design and management of geotechnical investigations - Knowledge of all aspects of Geotechnical Engineering from the design of earthworks and the assessment of slope stability to the analysis of foundation bearing capacities and settlement - A solid track record of having worked on a variety of Geotechnical projects, with experience of dealing directly with clients. - A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills
