Principal Manufacturing Advancement Engineer

This position will provide technical direction, analysis, assistance, and project management to implement strategic initiatives across the global Bearings Power Transmission manufacturing footprint. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise at a corporate level to support new plant start-ups, product rationalization across plants, and continuous improvement activities around the world. Responsibilities: TECHNICAL SUPPORT · Provide technical support/problem-solving through process development, process modeling, and data analysis methodology, including capability studies. · Assist in making technical recommendations for manufacturing solutions throughout the global business. · Develop strong technical relationships with peers at the global plant sites and focus on knowledge transfer to them. MANUFACTURING STRATEGY · Assist in strategy development for deployment of finishing processes. CAPITAL PROJECTS · Lead specific major investment efforts related to global business/market growth initiatives. This includes specification/selection of new assets or upgrades in technology to existing equipment, asset implementation into the plant?s site, and delivery of a total process technology package. These projects require justification (basic business case) and approval of Appropriation Requisitions (ARs), tracking/forecasting of spending, and timely completion of projects within budget. PRODUCT/PROCESS RATIONALIZATION · Support manufacturing process analysis for global rationalization efforts. · Perform basic manufacturing process benchmarking analysis and cost comparisons across facilities PROJECT MANAGEMENT · Utilize appropriate tools for large scale projects, including project plans, regular management updates, and implementation of corrective actions to assure timely completion CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT · Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities for continuous improvement projects that improve operating metrics (throughput, quality, customer service, cost, and safety). This will require working with the manufacturing plant teams to identify solutions, and then following through with implementation, support, and evaluation TECHNOLOGY TRANSFORMATION · Work with the Advance Process Technology teams at the Technology Center to implement recently developed/new technologies TRAVEL · International and domestic travel is required and can be significant at various times throughout a project lifecycle.
