Principal Professional Services Engineer

Raytheon Oakley Systems is part of Raytheon Company's Intelligence and Information Systems business. Raytheon Oakley Systems is a leader in insider threat protection, developed by experts in law enforcement, defense, and digital forensics, combining network and endpoint monitoring with targeted investigations to protect enterprises against the complete range of insider threats.

The Principal Professional Services Engineer serves as the primary technical interface and onsite subject matter expert to customers for the Raytheon Oakley Systems product line. Working closely with Raytheon Oakley's Federal Government customers and Raytheon Program Managers, this individual will perform and assist in all phases of product integration, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical issues related to the Raytheon Oakley product suite. Additionally, this individual will help shape customer deployments by sharing best practices, and lessons learned from direct experiences in related IT security and networking fields. LOCATION: Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Responsibilities include:

  • On-site Subject Matter Expert for Raytheon Oakley's suite of products providing intermediate level onsite troubleshooting related to the operation, maintenance, and repair to include both Windows-based client and Linux/Java based server debugging and diagnosis of TCP/IP network related problems.

  • Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of servers and network components as they relate to the Raytheon Oakley suite of products.

  • First escalation contact for customer support issues.

  • Basic Oracle 10g and/or 11g database installation, configuration, and performance monitoring.

  • Small-scale customer training.

  • Aiding, and providing recommendations to the customer's internal IT staff with deployment of Raytheon Oakley's product suite.

  • Interfacing with the customer's staff to assist with project planning, product employment best practices, and problem resolution.

  • Act as the internal customer advocate for problem resolution, new product features, and future product direction.

  • Accurately and completely document product problems and associated defects and solutions.

  • Maintain ownership of customer issues and drive those issues to resolution.

    Required skills:

  • 8+ years applicable experience to include:

  • 5+ years as a support engineer or related customer facing technical field.

  • 5+ years Windows and Linux operating systems experience.

  • 4+ years IP networking experience.

  • 1+ years technical project leadership experience.

  • Strong computer, Windows Operating Systems, Linux, and TCP/IP network troubleshooting abilities

  • Proven experience with implementation of enterprise level networking or security products or similar projects.

  • Capable of working independently and self guiding work schedules to meet customer needs.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.

  • Must be willing to travel within the MD/NoVA/WashDC region, and travel periodically within the Continental United States.

    Clearance required: Active/Existing TS/SCI with Polygraph

    Desired Skills:

  • 1 or more years Oracle 10g or 11g a plus.

  • SCNP, CISSP or related certifications desirable.

  • Experience in Cyber-Security, Cyber-Investigations, or Computer Forensics a plus.

    Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
