The Principal Scientist will lead the coordination of technical services activities across the Large Molecule API network and products. Provided technical expertise and leadership to a) identify, and execute improvement projects; b) for technical investigations of manufacturing issues; and c) support of new product development and introduction. The Principal Scientist will develop business cases, define project scopes, assess feasibility studies and project execution plans, and execution of projects, utilizing her/his knowledge and competencies about process science and technology, GMP and EHS Compliance and Regulatory requirements worldwide, financial and business impact.

The Principal Scientist will develop and transfer advanced knowledge on current and future, processes, manufacturing technologies, including bio and convergent technologies. The successful candidate will support internal and external manufacturing sites to define improvement goals and plans, then oversights its implementation, providing leadership and advanced expertise on feasibility and risks management The Principal Scientist will provide technical expertise to new product development teams and to PDMS for early phase/design for manufacturability to ensure development of products to platform standards and to guide implementation of new technologies. The successful candidate will support internal and external manufacturing sites to define improvement goals and plans, then supports its implementation, providing leadership and advanced expertise on feasibility and risks management and provide expertise upon request, either in case of new products transfers or audits.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a Masters Degree in a scientific discipline or related field with 8 years of experience in Industrial Scale Mammalian Cell Culture and/or Protein Purification OR a PhD in a scientific discipline or related field with 5 years of experience in Industrial Scale Mammalian Cell Culture and/or Protein Purification. Experience with Aseptic Processing, tech transfer and troubleshooting manufacturing process is desired. Experience with process development and scale up is preferred. Experience leading a team and working in a matrix environment is required. This position requires strong oral and written communication. Experience with GMP is required. This is position can be located in Malvern, PA or Horsham, PA. The position may require 10% to 25% travel.
