Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Process Engineer in continuously improving the Bulk manufacturing processes to provide better product characteristics, lower costs, quicker cycle times, and better use of assets. Successful candidates will develop the skills to fully support a product line in the future.
- Develop and maintain process routings for all Bulk products
- Assess capability for new product inquiries and develop cost quotations
- Participate on the Material Review Board and solve shop floor problems as they occur
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for equipment and processes
- Develop process control systems to ensure consistent product quality
- Train operations personnel on Bulk manufacturing and metallurgical processes
- Manage/co-manage capacity and capability expansion projects
- Supervise and/or direct the manufacture of Bulk Products at outside facilities.
- Assist customers and work with Sales, RD and QA in the resolution of customer issues and complaints.
- Communicate with quality, distribution and sales to conduct specification reviews.
- Process Engineer assigned to the Heat Treat Furnaces must be trained in Pyrometry within a year of taking on the assignment. (In case of a re-organization, the Pyrometry responsibility could be transferred to another position within the Bulk Process Engineering Group.)

Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelors degree in Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering. Masters degree in Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering preferred
- 0 - 10 plus years of relevant experience preferable or an advanced degree in lieu of experience.
- Experience in Wire and/or rod mill products manufacturing is preferred
- Prior experience with casting or metalworking copper alloys preferred
- Ability to lead projects (i.e., capital, continuous improvement, LSS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and serve on safety initiative teams as needed.
- Effective facilitation skills and ability to work with shop-floor personnel
- Strong investigative and problem solving skills
- Ability to work well on teams with employees at all levels within the organization
- LSS experience a plus (GB/BB)
- Solid understanding of process control tools and techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in SAP preferred
- Adequate typing skills
- Willingness to learn new skills, work habits and procedures
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or be a lawful Permanent Resident of the United States
