Description

Work with teams to prepare and conduct process improvement events e.g. Kaizen.

Develop and prepare materials for use in the events, coordinate with department management and participants, lead instruction on the use of process improvement tools, facilitate team decisions, manage team work, resolve team conflict, assist in the development of implementation action plans, and conduct follow-up.

Will perform the following duties, as well as other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits.

Uses appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements.

Develops reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs.

Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction.

Prepares purchase information for departmental management review to identify materials, software and other resources required for effective implementation of Continuous Improvement.

Under general supervision, the incumbent plans, coordinates, schedules, leads, evaluates, and completes assignments.

Possesses keen team leadership, problem analysis and solving, and process improvement skills and consults with management providing expertise in process improvement techniques to achieve corporate objectives within the costs allowable.

Applies own organization and business knowledge to market and communicate the benefits of Continuous Improvement and operates with substantial latitude for independent action or decision.

A key element of success within this role is for the successful candidate to have the ability to acquire and communicate an Enterprise-wide perspective across and through the organisation as Kaizen will typically establish and build initiatives and momentum across functions and disciplines within operations

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.

Possess and consistently demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of Lean Enterprise principles and methods, team development and team leadership techniques, and project management methods.

The incumbent applies own organization and business knowledge to market and communicate the benefits of Continuous Improvement and operates with substantial latitude for independent action or decision.
