Process & Technology Specialist recruitment
The Access Control Group (ACG) is a group dedicated to user access administration and security maintenance across a number of platforms (AD, Mainframe – RACF, Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL, SAP, UNIX and a number of critical ‘standalone’ business applications) for UBS. The ACG provides 1st, 2nd and 3rd level I.T. support to an internal client base at a global level.
The ACG Process and Technology Specialist is key to the ACG, the primary role of the ACG Process and Technology Specialist is to initiate, plan and coordinate key service improvement initiatives such as consolidation of activities into the utility support model or delivery of new technology to replace End-of-Life IT components. In addition the ACG Process and Technology Specialist will work closely with business, technology and vendor partners to improve overall Front-to-Back IT service delivery.
The ACG Process and Technology Specialist is responsible for: -
Projects
- Partner with operations leaders and managers to identify and drive operational and process improvements to determine how maximum business value can be delivered as effectively as possible.
- Support operations with technical analysis and proposing changes for business improvement.
Update the appropriate operational processes, policies and manuals to support the same. - Ensuring scope, business case and project approach are documented and understood by all stakeholders.
- Document the business processes (mapping and modelling).
- Organise and facilitate workshops to identify and remove waste from processes, and if needed define new processes.
- Document requirements for any new tools or system changes to support business process optimisation.
- Assist in changing business culture to one of continual improvement.
- Understand best practice both internally and externally.
- Review documents produced by colleagues on related projects.
- Manage reporting, project plan, actions, issues and risks for each of project.
- Communicate with all relevant stakeholders and other resources throughout the development process.
- Define and execute appropriate test cases following documented processes and using appropriate testing techniques and tools.
- Document new process or instructions on how to use new tool, ensuring new processes are effectively communicated to ACG staff, providing training workshops where required.
- Develop sound working relationships across the organisation, and leverage those relationships to achieve a common goal.
Process Procedures
- Conduct quarterly reviews of existing procedures and policies.
- Provide analysis and requirements for on boarding new services into the Access Control. Be able to adapt the new service in to the existing support model of the ACG and that best address the business requirement.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of services into or out of the Access Control, including the facilitation training and training material and being the first point of contact to business and stakeholders throughout the transition.
- Work with Business, IT Functional support team and relevant stakeholders across all regions to ensure changes to application procedures are implemented and documented quickly and concisely.
- Be an escalation point for the 1st and 2nd level Access Control support teams on Access Control procedures and policies.
- Proactively identify, escalate and address knowledge gaps, broken processes or areas for improvement across all Access Control support teams.
Support
- Provide 3rd level support to ACG 1st and 2nd level Access Control teams, application owners and business security contacts with regards to process and procedures within the Access Control.
- Provide overflow support for the ACG level 1 and level 2 when required. Including the processing of services requests, incidents, attending to user escalations and administration of entitlements.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Understanding of current risk management issues.
- Sound knowledge of IT strategic and operational controls.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and submissions and undertake action-orientated research.
- General knowledge of core business applications such as Windows 2000 / XP platform, Unix, Mainframe – RACF, SAP, Sybase, Oracle or MS SQL.
- Experience in security support centre environment including excellent communication verbal and written.
- Experience in access control management, processes and procedures.
- 3 – 5 years experience in security administration.
- Industry experience within a global financial institution preferred.
- Project management experience required.
- Customer service focussed. Ability to empathise with clients needs and instil confidence that their issue will be dealt with efficiently and effectively without compromising information security.
- Good attention to detail and highly organised.
- Proven capacity to think and act both strategically and tactically and to prioritise issues.
- Sound knowledge of the principles of role-based access control.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills essential
- IT related degree preferred
- ITIL certification highly regarded
- Process Improvement Project Methodology such as Lean Six Sigma.
