About our Client
Our client is a major government department which, due to volume of work requires a procurement professional to join their business immediately. The department has offices located all over the state but this role will predominantly be based in central Sydney.
Job Description
The purpose of this position is to plan, manage and implement procurement processes for a number of divisions in the organisation and provide ongoing advice on contract and procurement related matters for various projects, particularly in the property and construction space. As such responsibilities will include:
- Plan, develop, implement and coordinate all aspects of tender processes including tender documents, tender evaluation plans, finalization and announcement stages ensuring probity and compliance with government standards
- Analyze tender documentation to ensure alignment with government procurement guidelines
- Develop risk management strategies in relation to contracts and procurement processes undertaken
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including NSW procurement and other government agencies
- Coordinate all activities relating to e-tendering for a range of currently undertaken projects
- Provide advice in relation to procurement to all business units across the organisation
This is a broad role that will cover the procurement of a wide-ranging spend with particular focus in the PPP arena.
The Successful Applicant
In order to secure this position, you will have a good track record in end to end procurement, ideally within a government framework. You will demonstrate strong commercial acumen to be applied in a government agency while your the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, is a must. There will potentially be a high volume of work therefore your ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines must be excellent.
