Product Control FIC Credit recruitment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To provide an effective link between FIC Front Office, (FO), Product Control, utilising specialist product knowledge and software skills to produce and summarise detailed P+L, (by desk), investigate and resolve discrepancies, obtain FO sign-off and publish final daily reports.
• To produce and review on a daily basis the justification of the PL via daily risk-based decomposition, and provide commentary on PL drivers
• Performing various data integrity checks for e.g. erroneous EOD revaluation prices etc.
• Resolving daily ad hoc P+L queries emanating from the full gamut of FIC related reports
• Responsibility for daily hedging of FIC currency revenue, according to FO-generated, tolerance authorities.
• Production of month end, final revenue figures for FIC Credit desks and the monthly restatement of P+L reports, ensuring consistency between official books and records and the daily P+L report.
• General housekeeping entries in the various Bank accounting systems to ensure appropriate recording of integral components of P+L.
• To ensure that the RBC attestation policy is adhered to by account preparers and all accounts accurately assigned with an appropriate attestation status within the month end timetable. Where the policy or underlying reconciliation is not sufficiently understood this should be escalated to the approving manager or group head.
• Exposure to month end reporting processes, such as month end posting of IPV, reserves and aging.
• To ensure immediate and direct superiors are kept adequately appraised of pertinent issues and developments.
• Ensuring adequate documentation exists to support existing processes, enabling effective X-training and cover.
• Continuous review of processes and identification of improvements/enhanced controls in relation to PL.
• To provide holiday cover for other members of FIC Product Control
• Exposure to various local and Bank wide project implementations and change initiatives.

JOB SPECIFICATION
- Product Controller with some years Post Qualified Experience.
- Ideally with exposure to Fixed Income or Rates Asset Classes.
- Excellent numerical skills with the ability to problem solve in a logical manner
- Logical, thorough, good communication skills, cool temperament, able to meet deadlines, high level of accuracy, reliable, trustworthy.
- Effective in allocating priorities.
- Astute in balancing conflicting demands from delivering a high level of service to front office and maintaining control environments.
- Strong software skills, (particularly Excel).
- Exposure to Projects would be useful.
