Product Development Engineer

We are the service provider for the national Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program serving 29 counties in northern Ohio as part of the Ohio MEP. Job Description
MAGNET is seeking a Product Development Engineer with experience in industrial product and automated machine design. The candidate will manage multiple product development projects from concept through manufacture. They will be responsible for designing products using ProE Solid Modeling CAD design techniques. This individual will work with clients and MAGNET‘s Business Consultants to deliver projects on time, on cost and to outlined specifications. Project deliverables will include product conceptualization, design/prototyping, design for manufacturability, and product launch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Analyze customer needs and develop plan to fulfill the needs
· Assist in the development of the statements of work and budgets for new opportunities
· Provide project leadership while managing multiple projects
· Implement cost effective solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements
· Responsible for manufacturing process identification for products made from standard and/or specialty materials
· Design products with ProE solid modeling techniques
Qualifications (Only applicants with the specified qualifications need respond)
· 3-5 years demonstrated product development engineering experience
· Experience working in a phased product development process
· Solid modeling CAD literate Pro-Engineer, Wildfire 5.0 or CREO
· Proven success in the design of industrial product and automated machine design
· Experience in the application of materials and finishes
· Background in manufacturing processes, fabrication and assembly techniques
· Computer literate in the most common Microsoft office applications
· Excellent communication and organizational skills/able to provide customer support on a regular basis
Education
BS in Mechanical Engineering
