Product Development Manager
The purpose of this role is to understand in depth the key business drivers, the competitive landscape and to drive the successful development and management of one or more contactless products and services to meet the needs of Member banks, consumers and Visa Europe.
Key Accountabilities:
- Business Owner for one or more Visa payWave products and services
- To champion the adoption of these products internally, and externally, working through the appropriate teams
- Be the subject matter expert for the relevant products and services within Visa Europe
- Create compelling business cases for Visa Europe and Members
- Develop the consumer, Issuer, Acquirer and Merchant propositions
- To develop and gain approval for the appropriate governance papers
- Competitor and business requirements analysis
- To deliver fully documented product and appropriate external materials
- To develop the initial go-to-market plan for each product release
Essential criteria:
- Significant experience in the payments industry in a product function
- Excellent track record of successful product development and experience of all stages of the product development life cycle
- Knowledge of contactless payments and the opportunities and challenges it brings for payments
- A strong appreciation of the differing needs and wants of consumers, Issuers, Acquirers and Merchants
- A high level of commercial focus and the ability to document the drivers and business cases for Issuers, Acquirers and Merchants
- Excellent influencing and communication skills to manage senior level internal and external stakeholders and to secure buy-in
- Can demonstrate experience of building high level product requirements
Desirable criteria:
- Significant experience working within the cards payments market in a product function, ideally for payment scheme, Issuer or Acquirer with experience of working with Visa
- Direct experience of developing contactless products and services.
- Can demonstrate a strong merchant focus
- Experience of working in continental Europe
- Second European language
