Product Manager – Insurance Syndications recruitment
City based European Bank is keen to speak with Insurance Syndications specialists for an Associate Director opportunity. The purpose of the role is to insure project finance loans against default. You will sit within the syndications area. Successful candidates with have good knowledge of Insurance and Law principles. Your background must cover Non-payment insurance or Credit risk and may likely come from a broker or insurance company rather than bank. The team is split between the UK and US.
Purpose
Work closely with Origination and Syndication colleagues to position WestLB to win and execute profitable structured finance transactions
Core responsibility is to use the insurance market as an alternative and additional risk-distribution channel by obtaining risk insurance capacity to mitigate the default risk of structured finance transactions
Core Responsibilities
• Insurance solution contact point for origination colleagues in a centralised team within Global Loan Syndications, providing timely and professional advice on insurance solutions working closely with syndication colleagues in the placement of risk into market.
• Relationship management of insurance market participants by remaining fully appraised of market developments, competitors’ deals and structural developments
• Preparing syndication statements together with other syndication colleagues / provide input on First Vote
• Managing the insurance process to ensure all timetables are met
• Management of the internal credit process to obtain risk assumption/reserve lines for insurers
• Ensuring that operational and legal risk is kept to a minimum
• Contributing to the monthly and quarterly reporting
• Undertake ad hoc projects for further development of the product / internal processes
Skills and Competencies
• Sound insurance specific knowledge
• Strong knowledge of structured project finance markets and ability to work closely with senior Origination/ Structuring colleagues as key part of a deal team
• Strong credit/structuring background, knowledge of structuring deals to appeal to insurers and re-insurers
• Good interpersonal skills
• Convincing sales and communication skills
• Strong and confident team player
• Willingness to take risk and responsibility
