The Product Manager-International plans, directs and coordinates activities of projects in support of the International Business Development team and International Subsidiaries to ensure that goals or objectives of international operations are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates or consultants.
Summary of Duties Responsibilities
- Support business growth in Emerging markets including South Asia, Africa, Eastern/Central Europe, Middle East, and Latin America
- Address product support needs such as technical service requests, inventory issues, customer (distributor, laboratory and physician) inquiries, etc. Work directly with field sales and sales training to optimize selling efforts.
- Conduct comprehensive market surveys for key markets including market sizes, opportunities, competitive products, pricing, barriers, SWOT analysis and make recommendations regarding product introductions
- Coordinate technical training courses for Engineers from our distribution partners at sites in Lausanne, Switzerland and the US.
- Coordinate clinical training for customers and distribution partners with training coordinators in the US and EU.
- Interface with Regulatory department to obtain product approvals for sale of diagnostic and surgical products in assigned markets
- Work with product marketing do develop and adapt support materials for emerging market needs
- Provide follow-up for logistics and coordinate shipments as needed
- Become a product expert (e.g. features/benefits, clinical support, competition, etc.) for the Diagnostic and Surgical product lines.
- Coordinates the translation of International marketing tools as needed.
- Work with subsidiaries and distributors to solicit publication of results of ThinPrep Pap Test studies worldwide.
- Tracks International literature and marketing material inventory.
- Tracks budget relating to expenditures from US Corporation.
- Coordinates on-going marketing and operating activities among the subsidiaries and distributors.
- Plans and develops sales training sessions for subsidiaries and distributors with Director of emerging markets.
- In conjunction with IS department, makes regular updates to the company’s distributor website.
- Coordinates planning with follow-up activities for international trade shows with personnel from corporate headquarters, subsidiaries and distributors.
- Maintains International Trade Show database.
- Confers with domestic personnel to provide advice and to resolve problems for international personnel and international distributors

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a marketing and or relevant customer-related position required.
- Experience with medical device, diagnostic or pharmaceutical inventory preferred.
