ProTech Systems Group seeks a Product Manager with a real estate appraisal and/or mortgage lending background. Our client is an Oxford, MS based technology firm providing software solutions to the nation's leading lenders, servicers, appraisal management companies and capital markets firms. Applicants should have strong formal education, management experience as well as direct mortgage lending industry experience, preferably in the collateral valuation sector.
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:
- The individual in this position ensures the achievement of strategic revenue and functionality objectives for the CMS product and product family.
- They play a proactive and key role in product planning and design to ensure product enhancement roadmaps and standardization efforts meet the needs of client customers.
- This role is involved with the CMS product throughout all stages of the life cycle (conception, definition, development, release and post-release activities).
- This individual will operate under minimal supervision, with wide latitude for independent judgment.
- This person will be expected to ensure coordination of efforts between sales, development, and CSG.
- This person must be aware of and understand CMS customers both present and prospective.
- This individual is forward looking and focused ultimately on growth and revenue opportunities.
- This position will involve travel to client sites and industry conferences as needed.
Candidate must be capable of communicating with multiple organizational levels and functional groups. - The person in this role must also be able to work well with counterparts to define product ideas, release requirements and marketing and sales communications that position products and the product line in the market at large.
- The role serves as the internal and external product champion and voice of the customer working with development, marketing, sales and customers.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Works closely with customers, prospects, project managers and the CMS sales force to design CMS products/product family:
- Develops a plan and schedule as assigned for products, features or industry segments.
- Creates written product specifications from the customer point of view.
- Evaluates and prioritizes requests for product changes, enhancements, etc.
- Focuses efforts on specific products or product families across all market segments.
- Documents the functionality, process flow, and differentiates client specific procedures for CMS features.
- Works closely with sales, marketing, and customer and product support to differentiate the CMS product and product family and resolve issues and problems that will affect CMS product success. This includes being involved in issues such as client presentations, facilitating demos, coordinating training courses both internal and external, etc.
- Maintains a close relationship to customers for awareness of customer’ needs and perspectives.
- Supports CMS development, system implementation, and other departments in the life cycle of a product.
- Plan and execute product launch activities, internally and externally.
- Creates strategic plans, short range and long range for the ongoing development of the CMS product.
- Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
- Requires 5 plus years of experience in project management and or product management, design and support.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage lending process as well as and understanding of the functions of a bank or mortgage lender that drive the mortgage lending process. This position requires actual experience working in the mortgage lending industry in a directly related field.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a senior manager, decision maker or equivalent in a mortgage technology company, appraisal management company, a mortgage lenders collateral valuation department or group or similar.
- Thorough knowledge of long-range and operational planning techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to operate as a matrix manager in coordinating people and technical resources for multiple area of the company.
- Excellent knowledge of the mortgage lending process.
- Licensed or Certified appraiser desired.
