SunGard's Global Trading business provides multi-asset, front-to-back trading solutions, including order management, advanced execution, smart order routing, clearing and settlement, as well as market connectivity and information services. It delivers solutions for all listed asset classes from equities, fixed income, derivatives and commodities to FX.
Job Overview:

To play a pivotal role within the data product management team with the aim of achieving the following overall business objectives: expansion into new markets, evolution of existing services within its traditional markets and repeat business from existing clients. Data Product Management's contribution to these objectives centres on:

• Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction in SunGard Fame Energy's and Kiodex data products by providing excellent diversity and quality data products.

• Securing a continued supply of data products through strong relationships with existing information providers.

• Developing new data information products and services which will increase revenues and margins.

• Working with SunGard Energy and Commodities marketing and vendor channels to promote the importance of energy data both externally and internally to SunGard Fame Energy through powerful marketing and effective sales training and support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To achieve a full understanding and knowledge of SunGard Fame Energy and Kiodex contractual obligations to its information providers and the terms and conditions of SunGard Fame Energy and Kiodex external licences and licensing procedures.

• To maintain and build on the relationships with SunGard Fame Energy and Kiodex information providers protecting contractual obligations on a day-to-day basis. This role will require regular communication with the information provider to ensure a continual flow of information.

• To liaise with information providers regarding sales and client queries and, where necessary, negotiate contract amendments.

• To be involved in setting the pricing and positioning of all data products.

• To input ideas for new products by using market intelligence gathered internally and externally - combined feedback from clients, sales and front line staff, and identify and establish relationships with new information providers.

• To prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and new project justification analysis.

• To be responsible for the preparation and analysis of the data revenue statistics report on a monthly basis and report to an internal management group in a timely manner.

• To ensure correct royalties and financial and client information is provided to vendors.

• To support the regional sales teams by providing pricing information, sales training, client liaison and helping them to answer product and client queries with the aim of contributing positively towards the sales process.

• To proactively monitor and review all aspects of the sales process, including all sales documentation, and propose alternatives in areas where improvement may be required.

• To identify industry trends and market initiatives and work with Product and Sales managers to create and implement strategic initiatives to keep pace with market - e.g. compliance, etc,

• To work with SunGard Energy Systems marketing to deliver regular promotions for data products in all regions including launches for new data products and co-coordinating all data-related sales activities with vendors where relevant.

• To liaise with marketing about press releases, data promotions and general data related marketing activities.

• To ensure effective marketing of data products by contributing to the production of the product brochure, the information provider communication pack, the internal sales kit, the SunGard Fame Energy information provider's holiday schedule and internal marketing materials and ensuring that all materials are generally available internally and externally where required.

• To contribute to the content of the data-related pages on the websites and the Intranet.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

• Graduate with a business marketing-related degree.

• Experience in a business environment in an information and/or software environment with a marketing/business development focus.

• Knowledge of the Energy/Financial markets.

• Mature, intelligent individual with good numeracy, written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Able to work within the demands of a fast moving, busy environment.

• Self-motivated team player who is also able to work on their own.

• Demonstrate initiative and commitment to satisfy deliverables

• Attention to detail

• Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of energy market information and an understanding of what information is available and how it is used would be an advantage.

• Understanding of cross-cultural/ international marketing issues.

• Relationship management experience.

• Attendance at client facing/market facing activities such as conferences and user-group meetings will be required.
