Macquarie Funds Group (MFG) is Macquarie Group's funds management business. MFG is a full-service asset manager, offering a diverse range of capabilities and products including infrastructure and real asset management, securities investment management and structured access to funds, equity-based products and alternative assets. MFG has been managing assets for pension funds, institutions and retail investors since 1980 in Australia and 1929 in the US (through Delaware Investments). MFG has global reach with staff in Australia, Asia, the UK, Europe and the US, including US-based subsidiary Delaware Investments. MFG is made up of three Divisions, one of which is Macquarie Investment Management (MIM).
The Fixed Income Currency (MFIC) Division of MIM is a growing and profitable business. It manages over AUD$30 billion in a diverse range of investment strategies and asset classes and manages investment solutions for a range of clients, from the largest institutional investors to retail investors. The MFIC Product Management Team is responsible for all products that are manufactured by the MFIC team. The team is based in Sydney but with offices in London and Philadelphia, also provide a range of support to these offshore locations.
As a result of business growth, the opportunity for an experienced Product Manager is now available with applications invited from individuals currently working in an investment specialist, journalist or investment writer capacity in the funds management industry or investment consulting sector.
You will be responsible for:
- Investment writing:
- responsibility for RFPs, questionnaires, and co-ordinating responses from MFIC to external stakeholders;
- developing and maintaining a range of presentations for use with existing clients and prospects;
- producing and contributing to written communications for various uses including investment publications, monthly researcher and consultant newsletters, media communications, and other ad hoc communication; and
- monthly quarterly reporting;
- Client service prospects:
- assisting the institutional and retail sales teams with the production of sales materials; and
- handling a range of queries from clients and prospect
- Business support:
- monitoring and reporting on developments with competitors and asset class trends;
- providing various data (FUM, revenue, attribution, etc) on MFIC products (and the business overall) to internal stakeholders;
- supporting the other product managers.
- Marketing:
- developing and enhancing MFIC's relations with asset consultants, researchers, platforms and financial planners;
- creating and reviewing FICC's marketing literature to ensure it is accurate and positioned appropriately to grow the business; and
- working closely with internal stakeholders in order to deliver outcomes in a timely fashion.
You will:
- submit a covering letter and concise resume as one document
- hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in Finance or related discipline or Journalism; CFA will be highly regarded, although not essential
- have gained relevant experience in a product management or investment specialist capacity or in a media-related field monitoring and reporting on the sector
- demonstrate a good understanding of the financial markets, especially Fixed Income
- possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships with key stakeholder at all levels
- be self-motivated, driven yet enjoy a busy team environment
- display a level of proficiency in using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel applications; a working knowledge of Bloomberg will also be viewed favourably
- display a methodical, time-managed and commercial work approach
