 PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER (IFA)

This position would suit someone coming from a product marketing background (with sound knowledge about investment products) who wants a more varied role, or perhaps someone with a quasi institutional marketing background again wanting wider experience.

The applicant needs good knowledge of funds (UCITS, multi manager, ETFs etc) and SMA products, an appreciation of general investment techniques and the issues currently facing the asset management industry.

They will hold an understanding of the relevant competitor landscape and some experience in the IFA arena – ideally an understanding of what support my client needs to provide to assist IFAs to sell investments to their clients. Interaction with platforms and other product providers (offshore bond and SIPP in particular) in a product marketing context would be very useful.

Principal Responsibilities:

Assisting the Head of Product Marketing to develop and implement product marketing initiatives that will build awareness and drive sales in target IFA markets.

Responsibility for building and maintaining a full suite of product and investment-related sales support

Literature and collateral for IFAs – brochures, sales aids, newsletters, client documentation etc.

Define key sales messages for client presentations and pitches

Prepare competitor positioning documents for fund and SMA propositions

Assisting Portfolio Managers and key Sales personnel with written requests for Due Diligence questionnaires and RFP/RFIs and ensuring that all requests are fulfilled on time and to a high and consistent standard.

Responsibility for development of content and functionality for the IFA area of the corporate website and associated microsites

To manage and co-ordinate events including developing content, supporting materials and production of relevant MI

Where relevant, manage relationships with external agencies to ensure all product marketing and communications activity supports the brand.

Key Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in financial services marketing, within an asset management group, and will have the following attributes –

Experience in a product marketing capacity gained within the asset management field

Experience of marketing products and services to IFA audiences

Experience in liaising with third party distributors (e.g. platforms, life companies and other product providers, IFA networks) on joint initiatives

Strong investment knowledge across a broad range of investment strategies and products is preferred

Proven marketing communications experience and the ability to write across different media.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively

A strong proactive attitude and the confidence to take ownership of projects

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably with senior executives and portfolio managers

IMC or equivalent a strong advantage
