Description
The Product Manager/Senior Writer is responsible for effectively communicating the differentiating attributes of Mellon Capital's product capabilities to the marketplace through effective marketing and communications strategies. The position has responsibility for executing the positioning of the firm's hedge fund and traditional products in the marketplace, and developing and implementing product marketing plans, pieces, commentaries and competitive analysis for various internal and external distribution channels. As the key liaison between investment management, research, marketing communications, and distribution channels, the candidate will work with the product marketing team and other organizational resources to define, create and execute tactical marketing programs to support business development and retention efforts. The Product Manager is considered a key advocate for Mellon Capital's products from a marketing perspective. The individual understands Mellon Capital's products in detail including legal, operational, investment and marketing issues. The individual also serves as a source of information for the consultant relations, distribution channel, and internal sales teams through an ongoing dialogue with portfolio management, trading, legal, accounting, research and other operational units at Mellon Capital.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Finance or Business. MBA and/or CFA or progress toward designation desirable. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. 5 years minimum experience in the institutional asset management industry. Demonstrated knowledge of investment markets and strong analytical and mathematic skills as applicable to investment concepts. Accustomed to working within strict deadlines with a high commitment to accuracy. Excellent attention to detail.
