Production Artist
Reports directly to Senior Level Staff Graphic and Packaging Designer, in-house Creative Department
QUALIFICATIONS:

7. Can use Macintosh computers proficiently
8. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (CS4+) – InDesign and Quark

11. Photography knowledge a plus
12. Copy writing/editing a plus
13. Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as part of a team with other DOWNLITE staff
14. Effective communication skills
15. Willingness to work and learn
16. Flexible
17. Graphic Design Degree or 2-3 years related experience
18. Ability to work weekdays, evenings as needed to meet deadlines
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the design execution in packaging, display and visual merchandising for both customer private label and specific Brand Licenses programs. Which includes, but is not limited to:
1. Assists with the maintenance of artwork standards and packaging guidelines/procedures
2. Finalizes artwork specifications and prepares pre-press files for print
3. Proof reads and monitors copy editing on all artwork
4. Maintains artwork library in department
5. Manages the proofing and press checks of artwork
6. Maintains working relationship with vendors to ensure artwork meets all standards
7. Assists in the development of design projects
8. Assists in the development of catalogs, guides, sell sheets, brochures and informational materials (for retail, hospitality, small customers, DL store and DL corporate)
