International consumer products company with worldwide sales and distribution facilities, including manufacturing facilities in China, Indonesia, Japan, and Mexico, is seeking a Production Artist to be based out of its headquarters in Ontario, California. This position provides the selected candidate with a challenging and rewarding work environment in which he/she will have the opportunity to make a solid impact.
Position Summary:
Under guidance and supervision of the Creative Director, the Production Artist will be responsible for the conceptualization, design and production of branded and private label packaging, point of sale and collateral material. This position interacts and receives general direction from the Marketing Sales team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Designing branded and private label packaging with particular attention on packaging design and branding;
- Coordinating all aspects of packaging production with internal clients and external vendors;
- Designing point of sale materials;
- Sell sheet development and design;
- Designing trade show collateral and event signage;
- Building hi-res mechanical files and coordinating ftp postings;
- Maintaining and continuously updating the digital resource library (e.g., sell sheets, product images, logos, etc.) and hi-res mechanical legacy archives;
- Creating PowerPoint presentations slides and images;
- Creating UPC barcodes using appropriate software;
- Designing website content and preparing images for upload;
- Other special projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 -5 years of graphic production experience required
- Must have knowledge of Macintosh OSX platform and related graphic software, including but not limited to: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, QuarkXpress as well as experienced with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Must have packaging and/or consumer products experience
- Ideal candidate will have strong experience building mechanicals
- Knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver or Flash helpful
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment that is fast-paced and results-oriented with a constantly evolving work flow.
