Production Designer
Global Creative Services Production Designer,
Summary:
This position, reporting to the Senior Design Lead within the San Francisco-based Creative Services group, will be responsible for the execution of design for sales and marketing materials, branded event signage and materials, custom work, and packaging. This candidate will be responsible for the pre-production and pre-flight of all print projects with our global print management vendor and other external vendors for event related items. They will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic, creative team and must have the ability to take art direction well.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare/pre-flight artwork insuring all files are technically accurate and print ready
- Highly proficient in the creation of print and digital files, including files for promotional items, staging, and signage
- Execution of effective marketing communications materials for the BlackRock and iShares brands
- Able to listen and take art direction well
- Communicate effectively with the internal creative services team and print management vendors
- Assist with file and server management
- Work closely with internal team to ensure brand consistency through all materials
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a corporate environment
- Undergraduate degree in graphic design or related work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a production designer
- Strong production-oriented design skills plus a solid design sensibility
- Experience formatting long, text-heavy marketing collateral such as white papers and brochures
- Ability to work with templated designs and follow strict visual identity guidelines
- Ability to deliver technically accurate design files on a schedule
- Able to work calmly under pressure with tight deadlines
- Must be fast, efficient and technically oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience formatting and pre-flighting print materials and custom event signage
- Highly organized, able to manage time well and manage a high volume of projects in a deadline driven environment
- Extremely detail oriented with strong ability to identify and correct mistakes
- Must have a high degree of ownership and accountability
- Solid knowledge of pre-press and printing industry
- Power user of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat)
