Production Manager
Production Manager - Harlow, Essex
Our client is an established Engineering company, offering one of the UK's most comprehensive subcontract manufacturing capabilities and covering CNC machining, gear cutting and fabrication.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to join their team in Harlow on a permanent basis.
The main duties will include:
• Managing the shop floor
• Overseeing the processing of orders from receipt to dispatch
• Organising all production operations to ensure that output and quality targets are achieved
• Ensuring that production is cost effective
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure maximum production efficiency
• Being involved with the implementation of a new computerised manufacturing system
• Continuously seeking ways of improving methods of production to increase productivity
• Being responsible for the maintenance of all machinery and developing a proactive maintenance programme
• Developing close working relationships with employees and encouraging members of the team to develop ideas that will improve shop floor efficiency
• Monitoring performance and achievements of employees and providing guidance to management colleagues so that key targets and objectives are met
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience as a Production Manager with a background in jobbing shops
• A proven ability to implement, monitor and improve production processes and procedures
• Experience of managing staff including training, motivating, appraising and leading by example
• Well developed communication skills to deal with contacts at all levels
• General IT literacy in MS Office, with knowledge of manufacturing process software an advantage
• Good attention to detail, efficient working methods and high standards of work
• An engineering qualification would be beneficial
