Production Supervisor
Rio Tinto Minerals (RTM), part of the Rio Tinto group, has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor to be based in our facility in Boron, California.
The Production Supervisor provides leadership and direction for the production teams and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork at Boron Operations. Production Supervisor will work closely with mining, maintenance, shipping and quality control departments in order to operate the plant effectively, minimize downtime and produce quality product. The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to ensure the safe, effective, and economical production of borates. The Production Supervisors covers all shifts in a calendar year.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Lead and sustain a behavior based safety and health culture.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Manage and lead shift operators to safely and efficiently produce high quality products.
- Ensure business is conducted in a fair and consistent manner and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Train and develop team members.
- Actively participate in continuous improvements of the operation.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelors degree desirable. High school diploma required.
- 3+ years experience in mining/mineral processing or maintenance/operations desirable.
- Drive positive Safety Culture. Ensure compliance with Minerals safety, health and environmental standards and procedures.
- Experience in Production Supervision desirable.
- Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Able to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and processes.
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, Excel.
