Production Support Analyst
The Enterprise Technology Data Group services the organisation on a global basis as a data service provider, coupled with information delivery channels to provide data to their customers. This group supports numerous business lines, which includes the front office, risk, regulatory oversight, finance and Retail with the provision of their data and the provisioning of tools to utilise the data.
The Enterprise Technology Data Group is currently expanding and as more products and systems go into production there is an increased demand to have a presence in the UK that can cover production support and supplement the current off-shore support group. This is a new model that the Enterprise Technology Data Group is establishing in the UK and this person would need to be able to “hit the ground running”.
The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:
- Providing a vital communication channel between the business, the Technology delivery team and support teams
- Working very closely with offshore delivery teams and build collaborative relationships
- Structure around the applications, ensuring they are documented, supportable and fit for purpose
- Providing any necessary training to the business
- Working on the migration of applications into the established Production Services team
- Providing support/warranty to key user groups for a period after a project is delivered into production
- Working on the small-scale enhancement queues
- Facilitating regular meetings with users groups to obtain feedback on implemented solutions
- Raising small scale enhancements, and seeing them through to implementation
- Writing specifications for development to deliver against
- Support for the applications, including tasks such as, analysis and resolution of data issues, working with Infrastructure functions to troubleshoot performance issues, production release testing / health-checks and fulfilment of service requests such as the creation, modification and maintenance of user reports or data extracts
We are looking for someone who has had a career background within the Asset Management industry and understand the data landscape of an Asset Management organisation with experience of fund reference data, client reporting etc, reference data.
There will be a high level of customer interaction and as such this requires a confident individual who can effectively liaise with users at a wide range of levels. You will interact daily with users in many lines of business. Particular attention will be on issue diagnosis and resolution, data analysis, data workflow, reporting and end user data support. The role is client facing and will require excellent relationship management and communication skills to ensure a superior service to our clients is maintained.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Proven support experience within an Asset Management organisation
- Strong experience in supporting strategic data architectures, data warehouses, data marts, business intelligence and reporting solutions
- Excellent issue diagnosis and resolution skills and good attention to detail
- Delivery and results focused with the ability to manage complex client relationships in a challenging environment
- Sound technical understanding
- Experience working with offshore teams
- Demonstrable experience of application support of both bespoke and vendor applications
Good general technical understanding of systems and application architecture (databases, middleware, terminal servers, IP connectivity, etc.)
Competent in SQL querying to be able to interrogate data
Given the nature of the role you will need to be an exceptional communicator, possess drive and demonstrate your ability to build strong relationships, deal with senior stakeholders and negotiate delicate matters with passionate stakeholders who have extremely high expectations. You will need to be very articulate and structured in your work.
