Production Support Head – Mainframe and Midrange Applications recruitment
You will proactively monitor the production tickets and identify areas of improvement for batch and online routines, productivity increase for production support resources, performance tuning initiatives, planning and effective utilization of production resources.
This role has the overall responsibility for managing Production Support. This is a high level people management role where tracking, controlling and driving process improvement are key. It is not a hands on role however, the individual needs to feel comfortable with development, bug fixing and troubleshooting issues, and mainframe and midrange applications in order to provide leadership to the production support teams.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership to the production support team.
- Conduct daily reviews of production tickets, weekly review with Senior Management on the trend and report progress on improvement areas and actions.
- Ensures that the production tickets are monitored and brought under the threshold.
- Works in conjunction with the Release Manager and Product Leads to manage the production changes
- Work with the product leads proactively to ensure that changes that go into production are very well managed and no high severity tickets are caused in production.
- Work with infrastructure teams in implementing environment related changes.
- Work with the infrastructure team in identifying programs which needs performance tuning in improving the usage of the available hardware.
- Work with the product and infrastructure leads in reviewing the licenses and expiry of software and take steps for the upgrade of the applications.
- Work with release management teams to participate in estimations, planning and execution of major and minor production releases throughout the year.
- Monitor the production support SLAs and ensure that all the batch and online programs strictly adhere to the SLAs.
- Understand the base product functionality and the business requirements.
- Ensure that the production support team is aware of the impact of the changes that goes into production.
- Conduct and participate in post mortem calls for high severity incidents in production.
Requirements
- Should have 10+ years of experience in leading and managing production support for banking applications.
- Should have Investment products (Mutual Funds, Bonds, Equities, Structured Notes, Insurance,
- Wealth-planning tools) knowledge and experience.
- Should have previous experience on mainframe and midrange applications design, development and support.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
- Demonstrates thought-leadership, initiative, independence, and willingness to learn
- Ability to lead and work with teams across multiple locations and time zones
- Understanding of Branch Sales processes - front office, Backoffice and settlement process is desirable
