Program Coordinator The Office of Enrollment Services Undergraduate Educationat The Ohio State University is currently accepting applications for a Program Coordinator. The successful candidate: Manages outreach and recruitment activities and high school relations within assigned non-Ohio high schools with diverse student populations in major metropolitan areas; identifies high ability low income and/or high ability targeted underrepresented students for recruitment; counsels prospective undergraduate students and their families and assists with orientation and First Year Experience activities in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience (UAFYE); manages recruitment territory; learns about issues specific to low income and/or targeted underrepresented students living in major metropolitan areas and develops communications and activities to address those issues; analyzes prospective student data; plans and implements territory specific recruitment activities and events; develops positive relationships with high school counselors; travels to high schools, community events, and college fairs to represent OSU; possible travel up to 12 weeks a year (Fall and Spring); conducts large and small-group presentations; sends letters, emails and other communications to prospective students within territory; makes recruitment phone calls to prospective students; learns and uses the Empowering Market Analysis (EMA) and other technologies; monitors territory recruitment budget; assists with on campus and off campus recruitment projects; counsels and corresponds with undergraduate applicants and prospective students regarding Ohio State admissions policies, procedures and general information; reviews admissions applications; researches and resolves problems; assists with liaison activities and special programs; generates correspondence; completes special assignments; evening and weekend hours required. Required:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; valid Driver's License required; experience or demonstrated education in working with high ability low income and/ or high ability under-represented individuals; this position requires successful completion of a background check. Desired: Master's Degree; experience in admissions, higher education outreach, counseling, public relations; technology skills; excellent communication - including writing and public speaking -skills.
