Pima Medical Institute, the largest independently-owned, private allied health school in the United States, is seeking a Program Director for our Physical Therapist Assistant Progam for the Houston, TX location.
Pima Medical Institute is a progressive private school that offers associate degree and certificate programs in numerous allied health professions.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop and direct the PTA program through the CAPTE accreditation process.
• Supervise the activities of the department staff.
• Determine, establish and implement department goals.
• Coordinate and arrange educational workshops and inservices for didactic and clinical faculty.
• Evaluate the performance of students regarding course objectives and makes necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
• Ensures Pima notifies CAPTE of all program changes, expected and unexpected to ensure compliance.
• Develop and maintain a functional curriculum approved by the Corporate Education Department.
Requirements
- Masters or Doctorate degree.
- Graduate of a CAPTE accredited PT or PTA program. PT is preferred.
- 5 years of clinical experience working as a PT or PTA.
- Experience in administration, educational theory, and instructional design and methodology.
- 2 years of documented experience as an instructor in a CAPTE accredited PT or PTA program (preferred).
- Must hold current licenses and certifications as required by local, state, or federal laws.
