Programme Delivery Manager
A leading Asset Management company is looking for a Programme Manager who has extensive experience of managing end to end technology change within the Investment Services / Fund Account business.
Investment Services / Fund Accounting is responsible for providing technology solutions and support to the group to include transaction processing, asset servicing, asset valuation and data management. As well as supporting existing applications the group also builds new applications and services as per the business strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring successful provision of enhanced services from the current set of applications services, both internally developed and vendor supplied, including managing the on-going change, enhancements and maintenance
- Managing the overall programme deliverables, issues, risk and detailed plans
- Work with business, technical (internal external) and control teams to ensure that solutions are robust and appropriate
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices within the group across new builds and existing applications/ services
- Deliver on the entire portfolio of applications services
- Identify, communicate and put in place appropriate mitigation for project risks and dependencies
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with senior leadership within the organisation
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working as a Delivery Manager in a technology department within an Investment Management / Asset Management company
- Knowledge and experience in managing development support activities for investment services and/or fund accounting functions
- Exposure/Implementation experience of products such as TCS - BaNCS, SunGard - Invest 1
- A good understanding of the overall investment process and its data needs of a buy-side investment firm
- Delivery responsibility for complex programmes of work, multi-year and cross-functional with significant technology effort gained from a technology based career path
- Experience of delivering change to both internally built and vendor supplied solutions
- In depth knowledge and experience of managing and delivering technology change within a offshore model
- Proven track record of effective client management, systems and technologies deliveries and influencing at the senior-most levels in the organisation
- Demonstrate a real “Can Do” attitude with high levels of resilience in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work well in a matrix-based and geographically-dispersed organisation
- Ability to pick up knowledge of the business, new technology areas, new processes/methodologies and apply these changes in the day-to-day working of the Technology organisation
- Strong customer awareness and business focus
- Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and an ability to adapt and enhance this across a global team
Given the nature of the role you will need to possess excellent communication/presentation skills and be able to present to and liaise with all levels of stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence and ability to interact professionally with people at all levels are a must. As a senior manager in the UK based technology function you will need to show that you can provide leadership and direction to the delivery and support teams.
