Large Banking Group seeks to attract an accomplished and experienced programme manager to join an established regional team based in Surrey. The Programme Manager will be focused on ensuring that solutions provide benefits at both central and business unit level. There is a strong need to ensure the management of projects to time and budget, ensuring that the businesses and key stakeholders are fully signed up and kept informed of progress. Managing and embedding change will be critical to success.
Responsibilities include:
- To adopt a strategic approach to the delivery of assigned programmes
- To ensure project and programme plans are developed and agreed by all key stakeholders;
- To ensure that assigned projects and programmes are managed in line with the Banking Division’s project methodology;
- To effectively plan and manage assigned projects and programmes, ensuring delivery within agreed budget and timescales through all stages of the project lifecycle;
- The structured and coordinated delivery of benefits across a programme;
- To effectively engage and manage senior stakeholders.
- To plan and co-ordinate the engagement of all project and programme resources including business resources and vendor/external resources;
- To proactively lead resources to ensure that they are working efficiently and achieving the objectives set for them;
- To ensure that risks and issues are identified, reported and managed through to resolution;
- To ensure status reports are produced and accurately reflect project progress;
- To work closely with the Bank’s Programme Management Office to ensure that cross project and programme interdependencies are identified and managed;
- To develop and deliver robust stakeholder engagement plans;
- To establish and maintain strong relationships and clear lines of communication with all stakeholders and project participants;
- To ensure all programme communications are timely, relevant and appropriate to the audience;
Requirements
The successful candidate will be degree educated with an overall strong academic background and professional project/programme management qualifications. You will have worked in a fast paced environment, preferably within the financial services sector and will have experience of managing a wide range of projects and programmes. It is essential to have experience of dealing with executive stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a highly energetic and resilient individual capable of managing significant projects to quality, time and budget. You must be capable of staying calm under pressure.
