Job Description
We are seeking a New York -based Programmer/Analyst to join our Business Process Automation team in Equity Investment Management Technology.

•The successful candidate will work closely with senior developers on workflow automation solutions concerning portfolio management, operations, and trading. The candidate should demonstrate strong technical skills and a desire to learn the financial aspects and business processes of our firm. Must have experience working in teams to deliver systems that are under tight timelines.
•The team supports two primary workflow applications (custom built onshore) using .Net technologies (front end and server) and Sybase/SQL Server databases. Applications are used by 1500+ global users, 24-hrs a day / 6 days a week.
•The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to hands-on C# .NET programming and design (front-end and server-side development), hands-on database development including schema design and business logic implementation, working closely with senior developers to ensure all code is consistent with architectural standards and design, and working cross-functionally with other development teams (Trading, Portfolio Management, Sales, Compliance, and Operations) in support of enterprise efforts.
•This is a unique role in that it supports business and workflow functionality that cross-cuts a large number of teams (sales, portfolio management, operations) and integrates/supplies data to many other systems across the firm. As such, the candidate will work directly with business SMEs across the firm.
•Given the broad number of teams using the applications, the candidate will be given an excellent opportunity to learn how an asset management business works from a number of different perspectives and learn the details of a variety of financial instruments.

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following:

•3-6 years of software development experience using Microsoft technologies
•Knowledge and proven experience with .NET Framework (2.0-4.0), C#, SQL Server, Sybase, XML
•Demonstrable skill in developing with .NET WinForms
•Knowledge of RDBMS design development; optimization is a plus
•Good understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
•Excellent communication skills
•Ability to work in a fast-past environment
•Desire to learn financial and transaction-based systems
