About Our Opening:

The Project Accountant (PFA) will work in the Project Financial Management group and will be responsible for providing project financial support to project managers, sales, clients, finance management, and other functional groups as needed. This individual will be responsible for MULTIPLE open projects at any given time, understanding and explaining the operational issues that are impacting each project’s profitability.  PFA’s must possess revenue recognition and backlog forecasting experience.  It is also critical they have strong interpersonal skills and be able to proactively participate in meeting discussions to identify, communicate and address financial issues.  The PFA will use MS Excel extensively, and must be highly proficient with pivot tables and working with formulas. 

 

Key Accountabilities:

-         Preparation and process of project invoicing, monitors the overall financial budget for assigned projects

-         Support pricing process and validation, monitoring project budgets in accordance with the pricing contract terms

-         Providing project financial support to the Development Group, the Training Department, and Sales Team while maintaining fiscal responsibility to the Finance Department and Executive Management Team

-         Managing multiple client portfolios and on-going projects

-         Reviewing and Interpreting client contract documents to ensure project budgets are setup correctly within the finance systems, and that projects are managed in accordance with the financial contract terms.

-         Accurately review and interpret customer contract documents to ensure project budgets are correct within the finance software and project management tools

-         Variance and analysis reporting to the Executive Management Team on  operational issues that are impacting client/project profitability

-         Revenue recognition and backlog forecasting

-         Successfully work in a team environment with all staff levels

-         Identify and implement Best Practices

-         Proactively seeks opportunities to improve project efficiency financials, metrics, and internal and external communications to address issues before they become significant problems

-         Maintain monthly reports for assigned clients/projects, distribute to internal management staff and external clients as needed/required

-         Working closely with the Project Manager and the Client, provide on-going financial resource planning, management and analysis.

 

Desired Skills Experience:

- Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting

- 4-6 years of Financial Analysis experience in a project management environment

- High level communication skills

- Ability to work in fast paced environment

- Excellent Microsoft Office expertise (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions

- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
