Project Accountant – Shipping recruitment
You would be responsible for monitoring and reporting project costs, ensuring costs receive the correct accounting treatment, being the Finance representative on various AET project working teams helping the business to budget for projects effectively and realistically.
This would include implementing guidelines for CAPEX andOPEX and training the business to ensure correct coding of invoices and accurate budgeting of project costs. You would also design a new procedure for the preparation of an accurate and realistic budget for any new project proposal and ensuring this is approved by the Project Approval Board prior to any costs being incurred.
The successful candidate will be a degree educated and qualified accountant with at least five years experience in a Financial Accounting or Technical Accounting team. Experience in dealing with large project WIP balances and working with both Finance and non Financial staff on the capitalization and expensing of project costs is important. A good working knowledge of IFRS is desirable, along with proven experience of implementing and rolling out new CAPEX guidelines.
