Project Accounting and RIsk Manager

I am currently looking for a qualified accountant with project accounting and management experience to take on a newly created position within an international consultancy firm. The business has a very strong reputation in the market and primarily advises clients in the international development arena, helping them manage and deliver major projects and programmes.

The focus of this position will be to manage the project accounting, reporting and risk of major international projects. Your involvement will be with the entire project life cycle, from initial proposal stages through to completion. Throughout this you will not only control the financial aspects of the programme, but also provide commercial support to the project management team through insightful analysis, forecasting and tracking the realisation of benefits.

You will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of senior internal and external stakeholders and help influence commercial decisions. With a selection of new projects in the pipeline, there is genuine scope to grow and develop this role. There is a professional and collegiate environment in the business where people who use their personal initiative succeed.

I am therefore looking for a fully qualified accountant with considerable and recent project accounting and risk management experience. You are therefore likely to be working in a project intensive business and will need to have recent experience of the financial and risk exposures relating to international projects. Considering the nature of the work this business advises on, an understanding of, or exposure to grant management and international aid would be a big advantage.
