Project Controls Manager – F+G

Faithful + Gould is seeking to engage a highly skilled and experienced Project Controls Manager to work client-side for a Industrial Construction project in Lexington, SC. The qualified candidates will be supporting our Project Manager by implementing established procedures for baseline schedules and cost control budgets, monitoring progress, actual expenditures and developing forecasts as needed. They will analyze status data and trends as required and will be responsible for all aspects of project cost management.


Qualified applicants will be able to perform the following:
• Update the established project master P6 schedule weekly
• Manage, revise, and maintain status of the detailed project cost estimate/forecast to include all phases of project execution from design/engineering, material/equipment procurement and deliveries, construction contracts through start-up activities and closeout.
• Track and analyze the project costs including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts.
• Analysis includes forecast to budget and estimate, forecast to actuals, and contingency analysis.
• Participate in the development and improvement of project controls systems.
• Recommend improvements in systems, tools, and methods of project controls and project management.
• Assist in creating detailed project budgets from estimates and in the development of cash flow projections. Work with the Clients Project Management team and manage the overall project costs.
• Effectively convey our message in both written and verbal business development discussions.
• Remain on the forefront of new and emerging industry practices and the potential application on client engagements.
• Maintain effective communication between project team members and key stakeholders including client, consultants, contractors, and public entities.
• Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.

Job Requirements:

• At least 5 years of engineering and construction project controls experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related Engineering field.
• An Industry relevant degree is preferred but equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
• This position must have strong cost management, scheduling, and project planning and estimating skills, as well as the communication skills necessary to interface with external engineering, architectural and construction firms, suppliers, Management team and other organizations within our client organizations.
• Working knowledge of Industry standard software, including but not limited to Planning Scheduling, and Cost Management applications.
• Must be able to use A/E and CM cost and/or schedule information to evaluate project status.
• Experience in developing budgets, cash flows, and/or schedules.
• Working knowledge of Primavera and MS Project is required.
• Highly articulate, clear and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Clear decision making abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Thorough understanding and ability to utilize Information Technology in the performance of the work, including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
