PROJECT ENGINEER

Leading EMS Company is looking for a talented individual who is highly motivated and detail oriented. Serve as customer interface for all product engineering activities which would include: coordination of factory activities for requested engineering change and deviation activities, product AVL qualifications, new product introduction and ongoing manufacturing activities problem resolution. 

BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Analyze data to determine root cause and implement corrective actions surrounding product issues

·         Function as part of a cross functional team to support assembly operations

·         Prepare or direct preparation of product layout and design by using detailed drawings such as visuals, process instructions

·         Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems

·         Analyze inspection and test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications

·         Confer with other engineering personnel to implement process improvement plans

·         Evaluate inspection or test results for possible improvements of existing builds

·         Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks

·         Coordinate engineering activities for the Customer Focus Team (CFT) and coordinate with the customer to resolve production problems

·         Develops and updates documentation to establish production methodology and requirements

·         Identify and coordinate construction of tooling and fixtures required for product assembly, inspection and product movement

·         May be required to learn/train at customer’s site for extended period of time to support transition of new business awards

·         Assist Quotation in RFQ process by reviewing product and process requirements against site process capability and capacity

·         Develop SOE and process instruction for effective High Level Assembly (HLA) process in one-piece flow

·         Develop pFMEA  

·         Periodic travel to Company’s other locations to support center of excellence initiatives

·         Other duties as assigned

 

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         Strong oral and written communications skills

·         Use of the following tools may be required: Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics

·         Various PCB and system level operation knowledge

·         Inspection skills -  bare boards, systems, mechanical components, cable and harness

·         Ability to use mechanical electrical tools, tapes and dies, alignment tools, microscopes measuring tools.

·         Office skills -  office software to include, Microsoft Office and Outlook software; demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and basic process skills

·         Troubleshooting, and diagnostics skills, and overview of entire assembly process and ability to train others   

·         Ability to read and understand component data sheets and PWB fabrication specifications with working knowledge of production technologies

·         LEAN manufacturing training and experience a plus.

·         DFX training and Valor DFM experience a plus.

·         Working knowledge of IPC 610

 

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

 

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

·         2 to 5 years of engineering experience in high technology electronics industry or related area  

·         Past experience with leadership is a plus
