Responsibilities
NBCUniversal has an opening for a Project Engineer in the Technical Operations group. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Project Strategy to plan and execute projects related to Master Control, SP Editing, and New Media creation/delivery. It is envisioned that this role will primarily be based at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York, NY in support of the NBC Network. Some projects may require the candidate to commute to the Cable origination facility in Englewood Cliffs, NJ in support of cable networks including USA, Syfy, Bravo, and Oxygen.
Responsibilities:
• Consultation with Operations Staff
• System planning, budgeting, and design
• Creation and maintenance of detailed designs and system documentation
• Supervision and support of Installation Teams
• Testing and configuration of completed systems The ideal candidate would have experience in design and configuration of the following broadcast systems:
• Master Control Automation Systems
• Graphics Branding Devices (Imagestore/SG, Chyron)
• Video Server Systems (GVG, Omneon)
• Digital editing systems (Avid/Final Cut)
• Transcoding and delivery systems (Telestream, Anystream, Signiant)
• Transmission Encoding/Decoding Systems
• Network and storage infrastructure (Switches, Routers, SAN’s,…)
• Broadcast Infrastructure (Routers, Frame Sync’s, Intercom,…)
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years Design experience with HD television and production facilities
• Minimum 3 years experience in on-air environment
• Proficiency with Excel, AutoCad, Visio, Powerpoint
• BSEE or equivalent professional experience required
• Bachelors degree or equivalent
