Project Finance – Reservoir Engineer
Full Job Description
This role is for an experienced Reservoir Engineer, ideally with banking experience, towork within the Reserve Based Lending (RBL)Team (within the Project Finance area) of this International Bank based in London - City.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Support the RBL business ofthe bankby providing expert analysis and commentary on oil and gas fields across the world.
- Supporting new debt arranging transactions by providing expert advice and analysis.
- Wherethe bank isappointed as Technical Bank for a group of lenders, to provide in depth analysis of reserves in place and likely future production profiles and to be the main point of contact for other banks with regard to their QA.
- Where the bank is not acting as Technical Bank, to review the work of the Technical Bank and to provide comments and recommendations and engage in QA with the Technical Bank.
The ideal candidate for this role will come from a reservoir engineering background but have banking experience from a well-respected Bank with a strong Reserve Based Lendingor Project Finance, Oil Gas franchise. Our client will look at candidates direct fromindustry, who are carrying out the role of Reservoir Engineer, but, ideally, they are looking for candidates who have already made this transition. They will also look at candidates who have gone straight into banking from academia where their studies were in Petroleum Engineering.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A BSc degree in petroleum engineering or similar.
- A proven track record in assessing the performance -profitability of fields using reservoir analysis either within a bank`s Reserve-Based lending Team or from the Oil Gas Industry.
- Demonstrated track record in enhancing producing fields through application of reservoir engineering theory.
- Ability to interact and present to cross-functional teams, non-technical personnel and senior management with regard to key risks associated with reserves and production levels.
- Experience of prospect evaluation and early phase development.
- Knowledge and experience of policies regarding the booking of reserves.
- Highly proficient in the use of all required technical and economic software packages
