PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position is responsible for promoting and facilitating the assimilation and integration of Methodist Health Systems major clinical data management and departmental systems used in support of the mission, values and goals of Methodist Health System. Achievement of this objective requires an individual who possesses knowledge of the hospitals major departments, an understanding of the information systems and technologies typically employed by these departments in the delivery of their services and a comprehension of the data needs of these systems and departments.

Additionally, this individual must be able to reengineer interdepartmental work flows and procedures, integrating available information systems with them to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of inter-departmental operations.

In summary, the Project Leader facilitates and encourages hospital departments in adapting their information systems and technologies to improve Methodist Health Systems clinical quality.

KNOWLEDGE AN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND OR PREFERRED
4-year Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Related Field and 5 or more years of work related experience. Prior experience includes:
- Extensive exposure to information systems technologies employed in the healthcare industry
- 5 or more years of experience implementing and supporting Windows based business software applications
- SQL, Access, SAS (or similar statistical software)

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
- Must work long hours if system difficulties result from hardware, software or personnel problems.
- A high level of analytical ability is required to identify solutions to difficult technical or procedural problems
- Interpersonal skills are needed to communicate with department users regarding system problems and to
assign work and provide technical assistance to subordinate personnel.
- Maintains professional approach to handling confidential information
- Availability to travel occasionally.
