Project Manager

Essential Skills: demonstrable track record of working as an Enterprise level Project Manager; proven track record of delivering complex IT projects or programs of work; experience of structured methodologies, in particular AGILE (SCRUM, XP, RUP etc.); budget management of at least £1m a year

Desirable skills: business knowledge gained within an Investment Bank or Commodities Trading House.

My client is a highly respected technology consultancy based in London with a client base that is wide and varied across a number of large global blue-chip organisations. They have a strong specialism within the commodities trading world and also do a lot of work within large tier one investment Banks. They are a delivery based technology organisation that pride themselves on being the type of consultants that roll their sleeves up and deliver complex enterprise scale technology solutions. They generally work on the more complex and tricky assignments within an end client, or perhaps work on projects or programs of work that have gone wrong, be it by a client’s internal delivery function or perhaps by another consultancy that have failed. They are not the kind of organisation who stand up in meeting rooms telling the client how to fix their business but lacking the capability to deliver the solution.

My client is looking for hungry and delivery focused technology PM’s who ideally have a background in commodities trading or experience across a number of asset classes within a range of investment banks. If you are a SME in one area then this is not the right role for you. You should have a wide and varied skillset in both technology and from a business perspective also. If you have worked within a delivery focused technology consultancy before then you will definitely be of interest to my client as you will understand the challenges and demands of being successful as a consultant.

My client is highly flexible on the type of individual they hire, ranging in all levels of experience. If you are a strong delivery focused, AGILE PM then this could be an exciting role for you. In return the consultancy has a wide range of exciting and interesting technology projects for you to get your teeth stuck into. They pay a good base salary, with a competitive benefits and bonus structure.

The consultancy is a family orientated organisation and appreciates that although travel is necessary from time to time with the job, they will do their utmost to assign you work and roles that are in-keeping with your personal situation.

In short this is a brilliant opportunity to expand your CV, skillset and get exposure to some of the biggest blue-chip organisations in the world, whilst working for a driven and expanding consultancy that values the individual and treats you as more than just a number.
