Market Operations forms part of the Corporate Operations Group, whose aims are to help Macquarie's businesses by supporting revenue growth and cross group collaboration and to drive operational excellence by reducing operating costs and transforming end to end processes.
Market Operations provides independent specialist verification, confirmation and settlement facilities for a variety of products and currencies for many of Macquarie's businesses globally. The division provides a key segregated control function for wholesale businesses built on strong operational risk management and control culture. Market Operations has over 600 staff with a presence in international locations including Sydney, Singapore, Seoul, Hong Kong, Japan, London, New York and Houston.
Change is a part of life at Macquarie and the MOD Projects Team are responsible for supporting and leading change across the Market Operational Division. There is an opportunity for an experienced project manager to join the Projects team to help lead and deliver projects. These often cross many product, functional and geographical boundaries so provide a variety of challenges.
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive demonstrated project management experience ideally with an operations background from the financial services industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely with the business.
- Works well under pressure to provide deliverables timely and to a high standard.
- Highly methodical and systematic approach.
- Excellent eye for detail.
- Strong problem solving skills with an ability to apply strategic thinking
- Hands on experience of working with teams of business and technical staff, which includes business analysts, together with an attitude which fosters a high degree of rigour and excellence.
- Strong team builder with excellent communication skills.
- Business knowledge of Financial Services and Capital Markets (Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives and Commodities) preferred.
- Ability to manage priorities and resources to effectively deal with changes in demand.
- Experience with IT projects is an advantage
Responsibilities will include:
- Interface with Business stakeholders to drive the scope and requirements gathering, functional analysis and design of end-to-end business processes.
- Assist in the management of issues effectively and efficiently.
- Act as a conduit for managing the expectations of the business on a regular basis.
- Be instrumental in enabling the business to adapt to change.
- Contribute to and where required drive the testing and issue identification aspects of the Project.
- Communicate effectively within and between stakeholders to promote knowledge sharing.
