Our client is recognized as one of the UK's market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self motivated Project Manager to complement their established and successful team. Reporting to the Head of Projects, the successful candidate will manage the overall execution of small to medium size projects through all phases from "commitment" to successful handover to support as well as supporting the bid phase of the project. Tasked with a wide range of activities and responsibilities, the successful candidate will ensure that all projects are initiated in the correct way, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed in a safe manner and comply to all statutory requirements, and will manage all elements of the project delivery for a given project, to scope, schedule and cost, agreeing any changes with the customer and control project costs and forecasts to ensure on time within budget delivery including all elements of supply. You will both create and maintain an integrated project implementation schedule and provide direction, motivation and decision support to project staff, whilst establishing and maintaining productive business relationships with all levels of suppliers and customers. You will provide informal weekly and formal monthly internal reports on progress and where necessary formal progress reports to clients, and will ensure the company standard process for Action Management is followed whilst leading risk management workshops to identify risks and opportunities and manage the risks in line with company standards. Prior to handover, you will liaise with the customer to confirm a timetable for testing and ultimately deliver the outcome of tests to ensure on time project delivery, and if a client is in danger of missing project deadlines, will offer assistance in the form of a contract variation where appropriate, and will also be responsible for the direction, motivation, leadership and management of all project team members engaged in the project that you are managing. To be considered for this varied, challenging and extremely rewarding role, you will demonstrate previous proven success in project managing sizable integrated capital equipment projects including scope, schedule, quality and cost elements, and will demonstrate the ability to understand and communicate the importance and methodology of project planning. Previous experience of MS Project and basic contract terms and conditions will prove distinctly advantageous and a relevant degree and full driving licence are an essential requirement.
