The Senior Engineer is responsible to contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management.  All of these tasks also require strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, and product management.  The Sr. Engineer is responsible to develop and maintain skill sets and work practices to align with the expectations and needs of the organization.  Also responsible for the selection of mechanical design options to meet job requirements.  
Principal Duties (as related to functional responsibilities):
·         Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to all aspects of compressors used in comfort cooling and industrial refrigeration applications
·         Has proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product
·         Work closely with the design and drafting group in generating layout concepts and system configurations, approves drawings and design changes
·         Work closely with field sales to resolve customer job specific requirements.
·         Contributes to the on-time completion of programs and regularly reports on the status of projects
·         Generates technical documentation and writes technical documents for use within the company
·         Prepare and help execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of mechanical sub-components and systems
·         Conducts rotordynamic, torsional and lateral analysis for rotating compressor equipment using specialized software
·         Generates and reviews performance characteristics using specialized software
·         Prepare and generate reports for customer required analysis
·         Analyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data
·         Applies mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED, API, NEMA, ASTM and ASME
·         Possesses knowledge of manufacturing processes and applies the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing process
 
Ability to travel 10%

Requirements:  
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
·         BS in Engineering or related science
·         Minimum 4 years experience in a related field
·         Strong design background and knowledge/experience in solid modeling would be a plus
·         Strong knowledge of rotating equipment analysis would be a plus
·         Experience in a design and product development and/or contract engineering environment
·         Basic understanding of couplings, pumps, filters, etc
·         Basic understanding of fundamental business practices and manufacturing processes
