Project Manager

2+ years experience with IT Project Management background on construction based projects. POSITION SUMMARY The Project Manager will use the Systems Development Life Cycle and standard project management methodologies to effectively guide assigned projects to a successful completion. The Project Manager will work with the customer department(s), Executive Sponsor, and the Manager of the Project Management Office to create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations while ensuring conformance to standards and methodologies. The Project Manager will lead the implementation team(s) with all start-up, implementation and close-out activities including the management of the approval, tracking and reporting process of project change requests and coordinating various project management activities (i.e., create/update a master schedule, coordinate resources, development and execute a work breakdown structure, meet business requirements, develop communication plans and project documents). This position will also be responsible for collecting, reviewing, and organizing project documentation, preparing project status reports, facilitating meetings and identifying and/or resolving potential conflicts/issues. JOB QUALIFICATIONS education or formal training 1. Bachelor of Science in Business, Information Systems/Technology or other related field. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (licensure, registration, etc.) 1. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred. 2. Healthcare experience preferred knowledge, skill and ability 1. Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 3. Highly skilled using Microsoft Project, Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 4. Proficient in time management and able to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities. 5. Strong team building/collaboration and motivation skills; must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people and energize them to achieve high levels of performance while also eliminating barriers to change. 6. General knowledge of hospital departments operations. 7. Knowledge of general principles of information systems, a thorough understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle, project management methodologies, and developing/maintaining project documentation. 8. Negotiation and conflict management skills; must have the ability to bring others together to facilitate reconciling differences. 9. Ability to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of patient electronic protected health information (ePHI) and departmental documents. 10. A high degree of initiative, independence, and integrity in performing tasks. experience 1. Two years experience in managing large scale projects, preferably in a healthcare setting. Materials and Equipment directly used 1. PCs 2. Printers Working environment/Physical Activities 1. A tolerance to working in a fast paced work environment. This position requires quick thinking and problem solving skills. 2. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and manipulate forty (40) pounds on foot for several minutes. Manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination to work with small computer parts. Sensory requirements include visual acuity capable of reading monitors, reports, and hardware displays and audio acuity capable of telephone use and detecting audio alarm systems. 3. Work with an open mind as a team member with other departments to come up with the best possible solutions for BCH to system-wide problems. May have to travel to other facilities or campuses.
