Job description


As Lead Planner, you will create, maintain, report and manage detailed plans for the Portfolio Director and Project Managers and provide finance support, such as budgeting, estimating and forecasting, to the Portfolio Director and his team. You will liaise with the Work Package Leads to ensure all information is current and inform the Project Manager of issues that affect the project delivery. Responsibilities will also include assisting PMO Lead with coaching and mentoring of Project Co-ordinators, and running small PMO's on behalf of the PMO Lead as required.

Key responsibilities:
Critical Path Planning
Administer and manage the programme plan
Monitor programme internal and external dependencies
Track and report on progress against the plans and report on variances
Ensure that all Programme change requests are managed through to completion by ensuring all impacted teams and required governance groups are consulted and the overall plan impacts are fully understood and communicated
Ensure that workstream plans support the Programme plans and resolve any conflicts. Co-ordinate and resolve Programme planning issues
Analyze and monitor programme financial performance
Prepare and review proposal budgets
Interpret project financial reports to project staff
Prepare monthly financial reports
Liaise with European Wealth Management, PMO and Finance
Understudy PMO Lead as required
Compile status reports for senior management
Draft regular reports, such as Steering Committee Packs and 8 Essentials report, and ad hoc reports as required, for the Programme Director or delegate.
Review the quality and robustness of Programme/Project Plans, Dependencies, RAID logs, Programme/Project Financials and Reporting.
Ensure that all project co-ordination tasks on the programme are conducted appropriately and to the required standard

 

Who we are looking for


Demonstrable experience of project and programme support services, preferably acquired within the Financial Services sector
In-depth knowledge of project and programme delivery methodologies
Strong knowledge of the IT delivery lifecycle, associated methodologies and their practical application
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
Excellent people management skills
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
Preferably Prince II, MSP qualified or equivalent
