Project Manager, Property & Casualty Insurance recruitment
Our industry leading client from the Property Casualty Insurance sector is actively looking for a Project Manager, Property Casualty Insurance to oversee multiple simultaneous strategic/non-strategic projects. Notably the major project for the Project Manager will be a systems conversion project for its Property Casualty Insurance business. This will include writing project plans, tracking project status, issue and risk logs, project meetings and oversight of assigned projects.
The Project Manager, Property Casualty Insurance will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help guide their projects to maximize the benefit of business investments and IT initiatives. The Project Manager, Property Casualty Insurance will oversee entire project life cycle from initial concept through production release and post close completion for IT initiatives. Additional areas of focus include:
- Participate in scope and requirements meetings with business customers, and take the lead in defining and communicating final decisions to all parties.
- Continuously re-evaluate project status, identify issues and risks, and provide recommendations for resolution and escalate when necessary.
- Maintain steady communication with development and/or analytical staff, business customers and management on all projects.
- Provide project status to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of project management best practices.
- Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
- Extended time in meetings on-site or via phone with internal and external customers.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
The Project Manager is to have established a strong understanding of property and casualty insurance lines. Experience in claims and managing multiple Data streams in addition to Business Intelligence project life cycles is required. College degree, or equivalent work experience, in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering is desirable. Certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or proof of currently working toward one of these certifications is preferred.
The Project Manager is to have 5 or more years of direct experience in overseeing IT projects and following project methodologies. Proven business analysis and problem-solving abilities coupled with excellent PC skills is a must. Superior communication and presentation combined with the flair for collaboration and the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language is essential. Candidates must also be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with a keen attention to detail as well as experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
