Responsibilities
Objective:
Provide project management leadership and business analysis acumen on multiple IT projects for the Delivery Assurance organization that affects Moody's IT at large.
Functional Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities for the position include:
- Successfully manage (hands on approach) multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing the Moody?s Project Development Lifecycle (PDLC), including the work products and process phase gates.
- Document and manage requirements utilizing the Moody's standards including MKS Integrity Manager.
- Manage Stakeholders expectations. Facilitate scope definition. Drive project team and executives to make decisions in a timely manner in order to deliver project as to an agreed schedule and within budget.
- Support the delivery of the Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDLC) across Moody?s IT by increasing the awareness of the PDLC through on the job interactions with IT teams.
- Within 6 months of starting the position, be able to facilitate project planning sessions focused on requirements management, software configuration management, change management, problem management, schedule and iteration planning, environments management, estimation.
- Understand the importance and ensure project team dedication to data integrity within the project. Adhere to project measurements of the PDLC.
- Working with team and SME's, ensure tool alignment to methodology and develop operational efficiencies utilizing the MIT tool sets.
- ?Lead by example. Build a reputation as a positive problem solver who collaborates, proactively, in a constructive manner to create iterative improvements for operational efficiencies within the position or project team. Demonstrates MIT Values.
- Create and provide comprehensive written and verbal communication statuses. Modify communications based on audience and situation.
- Manage effective communication within the team by being respectful, treating individuals reasonably, building productive working relationships, and engaging people in participative planning and problem solving.
- Provide timely monthly and quarterly sign off on all MIT Financial Governance articles and successfully pass all PPQA, Internal, and SOX Controls (if applicable)
- Manage Up, and deliver results to Organizational Manager as well as IT Executive. Exhibit behavior of anticipating needs of Management and of the team and owning the deliverable through execution.
- Become an active member of the Community of Professionals within Moody's IT to encourage the growth and maturity of the organization.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
- Manages project team(s), Associate Project Manager(s) depending on the projects assigned.
- Directly responsible to Organizational Manager and will have assigned responsibilities and deliverables from Manager which are not related to assigned project.
- Promotes interaction within the project team, including MIT, Business Executives and End Users plus other MCO departments or organizations in order to execute project.
- Interaction with external vendors, consultants (on and off shore).
- Interaction with members of the Organizational team
Qualifications:
Minimum education and work experience required for position includes:
- 7 years project and software development lifecycle experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
- BS or BA degree, preferably in technology/business or equivalent.
- PMP certification preferred.

- Business Analysis competencies including the documentation of project requirements. Understands and can articulate the importance of requirements as the beginning of building reference architecture.
- Advanced project management capabilities that address all aspects of project management including, risk, issues, resources, budget, etc.
- Ability to create approaches to projects or deliverables. Create timelines to the approach and self manage to completion.
- Ability to move projects forward with an incomplete picture.
- Possesses the interest to understand the details of the projects assigned while also staying focused on the project delivery date.
- Solid and demonstrated understanding of the Project Lifecycle and its inherent responsibilities.
- Customer Focus in delivering solutions. Ability to manage Stakeholder expectations.
- Knowledge and practical experience with project estimation methodologies.
- Basic understanding of project financials.
- Proven ability to manage up in a complex environment while being a consistent value add to the management team.
- Ability to follow and execute directives of Manager(s); anticipating the needs of the manager and of the team. Provide solutions; own and execute.
- Ability to understand the importance of following MIT Governance processes; capturing and maintaining updated metrics for reporting within a project, resource and development tools. Ability to create, analyze and present comprehensive commentary on project metrics.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to present project status to various levels of personnel. Solid use of Microsoft Office applications to enhance project deliverables and attain results.
- Ability to facilitate and negotiate interpersonal or inter-team conflict.
- Ability to proactively create clarity where ambiguity exits.
