Position Description:
SunGard's solutions for capital markets help banks, broker/dealers
and futures commission merchants increase the efficiency and
transparency of securities and derivatives processing. They also
provide accounting, securities financing, data management and tax
reporting across multiple platforms, asset classes and markets.
Supporting the entire trade lifecycle from execution to settlement,
SunGard provides centralized transactional databases that deliver
consolidated views of positions and risk.
- Plan and manage one or several projects.
- Prepare and communicate the Project Definition Documents.
- Lead, encourage and manage the project team.
- Ensure the delivery of the agreed and defined
deliverables. - Produce, as required, plans, schedules and status reports for
the project, individual project phases and exceptions with team
managers and other key project personnel. - Assess, control and manage the risks to the project, prepare
mitigation, change control and contingency plans. - Manage the overall direction and integrity of the project
through project level reporting and steering committee meetings and
reports. - Project Administration and record keeping.
- Communications with any external or internal suppliers and
SunGard account managers.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge/Experience:
- At least 5 years previous professional experience of working as
a Project Manager or equivalent. - Knowledge of programme/project management methodologies and
excellent project management skills including project management
tools and techniques. - Professional experience of working within a financial services
organization, especially in the Trading or Risk Management
areas. - Significant experience of delivering projects which have
delivered to cost, quality and timescale. - Experience in business analysis and solution requirements
definition for delivering commercial IT solutions - Experience of working with customers outside the
organisation - Travel to customer site required up to 100%.
Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of written and
verbal formats - Strong presentation skills
- Proven leadership skills and a record of successful
management. - IT capable - active usage of Microsoft Project, Microsoft
Office, etc. - IT literate - knowledge of and comfort with technical
environments and ability to work within a software development
organization.
