Project Scheduling

In this role you will:

-Lead the ongoing development, progressing, analysis and reporting of a fully integrated master schedule for the entire scope of both pipeline and facilities on approx. 5 various projects.
-Develop, communicate, and gain general support for an overall vision related to the project scheduling function.
•Source and onboard qualified individuals as required to maintain a full complement of schedulers throughout the project lifecycle
•Promote positive engagement of scheduler team members.
•Establish performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations for subordinate staff members
•Perform other people leader responsibilities as mandated by company policies
•Interface with the PMO as required to ensure compliance with company scheduling practices and standards
•Develop, communicate, and gain general support for an overall vision related to the scheduling function on the project by:
oCreating project specific scheduling procedures, guidelines, and Basis of Schedule documents and; conducting reviews of same with appropriate team members to obtain general consensus with their content.
oDeveloping baseline schedule change control procedures and ensuring effective implementation of same.
•Conduct planning and create deliverables related to new project phases and significant scope changes including project execution team member validation of schedules
•Interface with the various stakeholders of the project team and other key stakeholders to obtain information required for accurate and timely analysis of schedule progress.
•Incorporate, update, revise, and add details to external schedules as the project progresses from detailed design to construction, commissioning and close out.
•Facilitate schedule review meetings with external consultants/contractors to ensure that external schedules align with the approved Basis of Schedule
•Provide project management with real time project schedule information and reports as required.
•Prepare materials and provide other support required for monthly project management team meetings to review cost and schedule performance on the project
•Maintain proper alignment between scheduled activities and the approved control budget breakdown as required to perform accurate earned value calculations for all major contracts.
•Facilitate schedule analysis and risk mitigation with project team members through weekly meetings, minimizing adverse impacts and maximizing opportunities to increase schedule certainty by:
oAnalyzing the impacts that schedule updates have on the baseline plan and forecast
oDeveloping detailed “What If” schedules as requested by Management and/or as necessary to communicate options to the project team. (“What if” schedules are an integral tool used to mitigate impacts to the overall project execution plan)
oIdentifying critical path elements and associated logic driven options.
•Provide scheduling support to project planning and assistance with the development of execution strategies.
•Analyze and report on the impact to schedule associated with potential project and execution scope changes.

•Direct the day-to-day work of the project schedulers, and provide guidance as required.
•Review the schedules for completeness, accuracy, and perform schedule analysis.
•Provide written assessments or reports of the areas of concern or interest in the schedules.
•Interface with the various project stakeholders to ensure that the schedule, dates, and logic accurately reflect the project plan.
•Maintain consistent use of the Project WBS for the development and implementation of WPP / WPE Schedules.
•Manage the development of detailed execution schedules and “what if” schedules as requested by WPP / WPE Managers and Leads.

Requirements:
•Technical college diploma or university degree in an engineering or technology discipline
•Seven or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including a minimum of two years of project scheduling experience
•Aptitude and communications skills related to acting independently as a senior logistics/scheduling professional
•Highly skilled and proficient in the use of Primavera EC (P5 / P6) TILOS V6/7.
•Previous experience scheduling large scale construction projects over $100m.
•Pipeline scheduling experience an asset.
•Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
•Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
•A self starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
•Additional experience in project reporting, cost control, procurement, contract administration, and construction management support is considered an asset.

Must be skilled in report writing and provide optional plans for schedule optimization, or risk mitigation
