Property Treaty Underwriter Globals/International recruitment
As a global leader in risk and capital management, our success is built on forward-looking, committed employees who are keenly focused on quality. Are you ready for the challenge?
Property Treaty Underwriter Globals/International
We're looking for a technically and economically minded individual, keen to learn and grow to understand our clients' business needs while continuously expanding your underwriting knowledge.
The opportunity
You'll participate in cross-functional client teams serving the Globals, DCE and RN client segments, advising and guiding client managers, brokers and clients on reinsurance programme structures and underwriting measures. Our clients focus on a wide spectrum of property insurance with a worldwide rather than local scope and with a strong emphasis on large industrial exposure. Often this entails developing and analyzing complex products and customized actuarial pricing methods. Your main responsibility will be to carry out technical, actuarial and economic assessments and you'll often liaise with other stakeholders in Swiss Re globally. A large deal of your analysis will circle around natural catastrophe pricing. Other duties include initiating and conduct portfolio and market specific analyses. Where appropriate, you may lead client-specific underwriting teams or coach more junior members of staff.
About you
Your university degree is ideally in a technical, science or maths subject. You have proven analytical and quantitative skills and a proactive, pragmatic approach to problem-solving, also under time constraints. You're a team player. Also advantageous are experience in property reinsurance pricing, primary insurance know-how in the industrial segment, knowledge of natural catastrophe modelling software and hands-on experience with structured reinsurance products. Your English is very good. French and/or German are desirable.
