Provisions Controller
The Global Restructuring Group (GRG), along with Non-Core and the Asset Protection Scheme, play an important part in managing major corporate clients across the globe who find themselves in financial distress. We are responsible for the management of any problem lending portfolios, returning those accounts to the originating Group business unit or subsidiary in a satisfactory condition, maximising debt recoveries and obtaining levels of reward proportionate with risks undertaken.
RBS employs over 6,500 people in Finance across the globe. This is comprised of central finance areas, specialised teams and divisional finance teams supporting the front-line businesses in over 30 international locations. Finance is responsible for working with the business delivering financial leadership, control, commercial insight and advice.
As a Provisions Controller, you'll report to the Head of Provisions and Losses. You will ensure the team operates in a strong control environment, identifying and managing risk appropriately, and delivers key strategic and tactical initiatives. You'll also deal with ongoing regulatory requests from FSA and FPC – helping to maintain our license to operate. And you'd be responsible for leading, developing and motivating a team of three direct reports.
To succeed as a Provisions Controller, you'll be ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified with good experience of financial reporting controls. You will be confident using Excel with excellent attention to detail. It's important that you've experience of dealing with senior stakeholders as this will be a key part of your role. You'll also be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and have an inquisitive and enquiring mind.
